PAVIA - 2018

Pavia é uma cidade localizada na Lombardia, no norte da Itália, perto de Milão. Possui uma grande área industrial abandonada do antigo complexo de fábricas Necchi, que fechou as portas em 2003. Necchi foi uma das mais importantes indústrias na Itália, que iniciou seu império em 1835, passando de geração a geração, até seu último herdeiro Vittorio Necchi, morto em 1975. Necchi era inicialmente uma indústria de ferro e aço, mas em 1925 tornou-se a primeira fabricante italiana de máquinas de costura. Em seu auge tinha 6.000 empregados. Com o declínio das máquinas de costura para uso residencial, a Necchi entrou em decadência nos anos 1960. Tentou diversificar sua produção, mas com a morte de Vittorio, a fábrica é comprada pelo engenheiro Bruno Beccaria, que com sucesso renovou a empresa por algumas décadas, porém veio a falência no início dos anos 2000. Atualmente, são quase 13.000 metros quadrados em ruínas, que foram a leilão diversas vezes sem êxito, a espera de uma reconstrução.
